What is ADSL?
ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is a new broadband technology, which converts analog (twisted copper pair) telephone lines into digital superhighways for its transport. It is an always on connection to the Internet, which reserves greater bandwidth than any other telecom based connection. At this time, LigTel's ADSL can offer a maximum speed of 1.5Mbps downstream and 768Kbs upstream. Broadband speeds are measured in bits.

Do I have to dial or connect from time to time?
ADSL is always ON or always available, meaning no need to dial up every time you want to connect on line. You will not experience busy signals or any waiting periods to connect.

Is the ADSL high-speed modem a fax modem? Can I send or receive faxes with it?
The ADSL ROUTER & USB type modems are not equipped with faxing capabilities. You will need to use your regular dial up built-in or external fax modem for sending or receiving faxes.

What are the benefits of ADSL over dial-up?
ADSL offers high speed unlimited Internet access unlike dial-up Internet (33kbps, 56kbps or ISDN FLETS' 64kbps).
-ADSL allows you to talk on the phone and fax while using the Internet, which means no busy signals and higher productivity.
-ADSL is always on which means your Internet activities are unlimited.

What kind of speed can I expect?
At this time, LigTel's ADSL can deliver access speed up to 1.5 Mbps downstream and 768kpbs upstream.
